The logic of disciplinary power that extends beyond the architecture of the Panopticon, diffusing the principles of surveillance, visibility, and self-discipline throughout the social field. In Foucault’s account, panopticism constitutes the common operating principle of institutions such as schools, barracks, hospitals, and factories, producing docile bodies through networks of continuous and dispersed surveillance. Discipline thus ceases to be confined to spaces of enclosure and becomes a pervasive mechanism of normalization that penetrates every level of the social fabric.
