Açıklama

The idea that individuals can shape their lives as a kind of work of art through sustained self-reflection and critical distance from prevailing norms. In Foucault’s later thought, the subject is understood not as a given substance but as an ongoing set of practices through which one works upon oneself. This ethical-aesthetic project provides a means both of resisting the normalizing effects of power and of inventing new forms of subjectivity.
